4 cups sugar
1 cup water
3/4 cup Dark Karo syrup
1 pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups pecans
Heat sugar, water, Karo and salt When it comes to a boil, add pecans.
Cook Slowly until it makes a soft ball in cold water.
Remove from heat and add vanilla. Beat by hand until creamy and drop onto wax paper.
Let Harden. If the mixture hardens too much while you are "dropping", add a little water and beat.
ANNE'S PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE
2 cups sugar
1 cup milk
1 cup peanut butter
1 tablespoons butter
Cook sugar and milk until it forms a hard ball in cold water.
Remove from heat and add butter and peanut butter. Blend.
Let cool and beat until it is creamy.
3 cups sugar
1 cup white Karo syrup
3/4 cup water
3 egg whites
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 cup nuts
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
Cook No. 1 until it forms a hard ball in cold water. Slowly beat into the whipped egg whites. Beat entire time that
No. 2 is cooking. Cook No. 2 until it forms a really hard ball in water. Add to No. 1, beating constantly.
Add vanilla and nuts.
ANNE'S ICE BOX COOKIES
2 cups brown sugar
3 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
1-2 cups melted butter
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 pinch of salt
1 cup chopped pecans
Mix, make into roll or rolls, wrap in wax paper, refrigerate.
Can be frozen by wrapping in wax paper, then aluminum foil.
Slice and bake at 350 degrees until crispy.
ANNE'S CHOCOLATE DROPS
2 squares baking chocolate
1 can condensed milk
1 cup pecans (You may want to substitute raisins)
Melt chocolate and milk in double boiler and cook until really thick.
Remove from heat and cool. Add nuts. Drop on wax papers.
