Anne Isch’s Divinity

As I recall from my childhood, this is a two-person job. One to do all the work, and one small child to lick to spoon.

(Note: If you are under the age of 30, you may need to find someone to explain to you what Karo Syrup is.)

Ingredients

First Bowl:

3 cups sugar

1 cup white Karo syrup

3/4 cup water

3 egg whites

1 tablespoon vanilla

1 cup nuts

Second Bowl:

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup water

Instructions

Cook Bowl No. 1 until it forms a hard ball in cold water. Slowly beat into the whipped egg whites. Beat entire time that No. 2 is cooking.

Cook Bowl No. 2 until it forms a really hard ball in water.

Add to No. 1, beating constantly.

Add vanilla and nuts.
